Bio
Max is a second-year PhD student in the Bioengineering Department co-advised by Dr. Marley Dewey and Dr. Beth Pruitt. He graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Biochemistry, conducting research under Dr. Farid Moussavi-Harami and Dr. Mike Regnier in the Bioengineering Department. His work studied the impact of small molecule myosin inhibitors from the protein to complex muscle level as novel treatments for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Currently, Max is interested in researching both the cargo components and functional effects of cardiac matrix-bound nanovesicles (MBV), with the goal of improving treatment of cardiovascular disease. Max is also an NIH Mechanobiology T32 Training Grant Fellow. Outside of the lab, Max enjoys hiking, surfing, swimming, and reading (especially GRRM).
